On July 25, Rochester resident and former career diplomat, Elizabeth Shackelford, will give a talk entitled “Civil War in Sudan: the World’s Worst Crisis that No One is Watching”.
Elizabeth Shackelford was recently the Magro Family Distinguished Fellow in International Affairs at Dartmouth University’s John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding. She served as a career diplomat in the US State Department, with postings in Warsaw, South Sudan, Somalia, and Washington DC.
Her outstanding work in South Sudan during the civil war earned her the prestigious Barbara Watson Award for Consular Excellence.
