The Vermont Collection
The Vermont Collection contains books about Vermont or by Vermont authors. Most of these books are housed in the Vermont Room. Some books by Vermont authors, but kept in the regular collections, are designated by large green stickers on the book’s spine.
Included in the Vermont room are books on Rochester and other Vermont towns, local geography, geology, history, culture, biographies, and periodicals. A bibliography of the collection is available is available for download in PDF format:

Books on CD and cassette tape are available for all ages. Many of the audiobooks in the children’s collection are unabridged and print copies are available to read along.
The DVD / Video collection
The collection is a mix of academy award winners, independent and foreign films, documentaries, and Vermont films.
The Book Sale Collection
Located in the vestibule of the library, the ongoing book sale is an important fundraiser for the library. Included are a mix of books retired from the library collection and donations. Most books are priced from 25 cents to a dollar, with some more collectible or new books priced a little higher. Please stop and browse frequently as the collection changes frequently and the best new books go quickly.
Keep the library in mind when you are ready to part with good books in good condition …donate them to the library! Some donations we can add to the collection and the remainder we will add to the book sale to raise critically needed funds for the library budget.
We have also set up a bookstore on Amazon.com to permit us to sell collectible books of higher value ($20 and up). So if you have hesitated to donate more collectible books in the past due to our book sale pricing, we encourage you to consider donating books languishing unused on your shelves to the new Rochester Library Storefront Bookstore
