This Week for Kids

Ready, set, BLOW!!!  The ever-amazing Montshire Museum of Science will be here in Rochester on August 19 for a workshop on wind vehicles!  In support of Physics month at the library, you can learn from Montshire staff about what makes a good wind-powered vehicle:  how can it go faster?  What slows it down?  You’ll have a chance to design and create to find the answers!    Tuesday, 8/19, at 4 pm.

In the kids’ room this month, we’ll be making physics’ most wonderful contraption, the roller coaster!   Come try out your ideas and designs; we’ll have all you need to create. You’ll find more physics challenges in our mirror table.  What kinds of patterns can you create with mirrors?  AND we’ll have wind vehicles to mess around with!   Be sure to check out all our new books about physics as well.  Funding for all this Physics Phun is generously provided by the Vermont Space Grant Consortium.  Thanks, Consortium!

Family Storytime, for all ages, happens Thursdays at 3:30, and  Stories in the Park is on Fridays at 3:30, where we will definitely get messy and have some fun!

As always, free snacks are available whenever the library is open: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11-6, and Saturdays, 9-12.

Thank you so much for supporting the library–it makes all the difference!

Can’t wait to see you here!
