July 1 – 5 at the library :)

It’s July, and you know what that means here at Rochester Library: DINOSAURS!  Kids, come to the library this month to learn cool dino-facts, play with some dinosaurs, and do all kinds of cool dinosaur projects!  You’ll be able to build your own “fossil” (out of cardboard), make a fizzy dino egg (what will hatch out??), make some dino-stompers…and a LOT of other fun stuff!  Oh, and did I mention that we have SO MANY dinosaur books!?! Partial funding for Dino Month comes from VT’s Department of Libraries.  Thanks, DOL!

There will be no Stories in the Park this week because of the holiday (but you can still join me at the park at 12:30 for some fun games!).  The next Stories in the Park will happen on July 11 at 3:30, when DINOMAN comes to town!  With his GIANT, INFLATABLE DINOSAURS, of course!

It’s time for another Adult Summer Reading Challenge with Prizes!  Stop in anytime during regular library hours and find out how it all works.  Basically, you read, attend a library program, or something else fun and library-related, you enter a raffle, and you may win a prize!  What a sweet way to spend some time this summer and support your library!

Line Dancing was so much fun last time that we’ve decided to meet again!  Come to the library’s 2nd floor for some learn-how and doing-it line dancing videos!  Meeting on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays at 5:00; next one is July 3rd.  All ages and dance abilities.   No dirty shoes, please!

Regular programming is ongoing with Purls of Wisdom and the wondrous Hilde, our knitting and handcrafts group, continuing the meet each Tuesday at 1:30.  All ages and abilities; lessons if you want them!  Join the fabulous Amy B for our Writers’ Workshop at 1 pm on June 28.  And on Thursdays, come enjoy Family Storytime at 3:30 in the kids’ room.

If you are feeling the need for a day trip, Rochester Library offers Vermont State Park and Historic Site passes, as well as passes to plenty of other fun and interesting spots around the state: ECHO, American Precision Museum, The Fairbanks Museum & Planetarium, Shelburne Museum, and more!  Stop in to learn more.
