For Kids This Week

Be sure to join Maya this Friday at the park for the last Stories in the Park of the year! What an amazingly fun summer we’ve had, learning science, making messes, creating so many wonderful, weird things! Many thanks to all the lovely people who have joined in the fun or loaned your children to do so. This week, we’ll celebrate the close of the season in fine style! Meeting at the bandstand during Rochester’s fabulous Farmers’ Market at 3:30.
October events for kids include a return of a very popular program, Dogs Love Stories, Too! Come read a book to everyone’s favorite sweetheart of a pooch, the lovely Shelby, who says “Bark! Bark! Woof!”, meaning “I LOVE BOOKS!”. Shelby and her wonderful human, JoAnne, will be here on October 4 at 10 am, ready for some reading. They’ll be back on November 1, and December 6.
Later in the month, be sure to save some time on October 24 for a Teeny Halloweeny here at the library from 5 until 7 pm. There will be crafts, snacks, games, and monsters! The friendly, nice sort of monsters, of course–no scares at the library!
The DumbleDorks, our Harry Potter book/movie/cool projects club, meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month, at 4:30. October 9 & 23.
After the DumbleDorks, grab some of our free snacks and head upstairs for a free screening of a famous wizard movie! That’s at 5:30, on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month.
Family Storytime, for all ages, continues every Thursday at 3:30.
