Fall at the Library!

For all you adults out there, there is plenty on offer!  Besides a steady supply of new books, you can look forward to:

Craft supply swap–bring in your unused-but-usuable crafting supplies one week; the following week, you’ll be able to browse all the donations and take what you will realistically use.  Cool, right?

Saturday Crafterdays–make a gift for yourself or someone else in these sweet little workshops.  Learn to make something clever and fun!

LGBTIQA+ Book Club–gather 1-2 times a month to read books from, about, and for this community.

Project 2025 Reading & Discussion–if you are curious about what the actual document says, this is for you.  Selections from Project 2025 will be provided; fact-based discussion will be facilitated by Robin Bebo-Long, a trained mediator.  Please note, this is not a political event; for reading and discussion of text only, in an effort for understanding.

Writers’ Workshop with Amy Braun continues on the 3rd Saturday of each month.  Get some help with your project, sharpen your skills, and support other local writers.

Discussion and support group around suicide death, led by social worker Lauren Scogin.  Come to learn more about resources.

On October 25, you can take part in an Intergenerational Community Conversation, a program by Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Commission and the White River Valley Consortium.  Dinner and child care provided!

Kids and families!  Lots to do for you, as well!

Wee Wiggles and Bunny Hugs, for our youngest patrons, is back!  1st Thursday of the month, 2-2:30, ages birth-3. Stories, movement, and exploration!

Lil Sprouts, for 2-5s, will meet on the 2nd Thursday 3:30-4, for stories, songs, and silly games!

STEAM Thursday for 6-12s happens on the 3rd Thursday of each month, 3:30-4:30.  Join Maya for some experimentation to learn how the world around us works!

The monthly First Fridays for Families is back as well!  Starting on October 18, 5-7.  Come do some awesome projects, chat with other lovely folks, play a board game, read a book–you can do it all here, with your family, FOR FREE!

The Group for Kids 11 and up is starting up again!  Meeting in Pierce Hall monthly on the second Friday of each month for organized crafts and free-style (but supervised) madness!  6-8 pm; starting October 11.

New this fall is a Wings of Fire book club!  For folks of any age who LOVE Wings of Fire books or dragons generally.  Hosted by Mischa Spittle, an avid fan herself, here at the library on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month, 5:30-6:30.  It’s OK if you haven’t read the books–we’ll try to avoid spoilers!

On Tuesday, November 5, at 2 pm, you can stop in for a family movie afternoon.  I’ll supply the popcorn, the movie, and the screen!  You bring whatever you need for a cozy afternoon’s viewing pleasure.  I can’t publish the title (licensing), but if you stop in I will tell you what we’ll be watching!

Is there something you’d like to do that you don’t see here?  Get in touch!  I am open to new programs!
