Taking a brief pause here, friends, as we celebrate a day of gratitude. I am so grateful for all the support this sweet little library receives from patrons and visitors! We here, staff, volunteers, and board members, are truly lucky. Thank you for all you do to make this library thrive!
In December, you can look forward to Dogs Love Stories on the 6th, with the delightful duo of Ms Jo and Shelby! Come read to Shelby, or write about Shelby, or ask Shelby to read to you! I’m not quite sure how she’ll answer you, but she will be very happy about all of this! That’s at 10 AM in the children’s room.
On December 13 at 10 AM, join us in welcoming local author, National Geographic Explorer, co-inventor of the Cora Ball, and environmental researcher Rachael Zoe Miller, as she tells us about her new book, Decision-Making in the Age of Plastics. In this incredibly useful book, Rachael takes you through an “easy-to-use, interactive process that mixes knowledge with practical considerations” about products we often buy (take-out food or laundry detergent, for example). You’ll be able to make purchasing decisions in a way that aligns with your values and money! What’s not to love? We have a copy here at RPL for patrons to borrow. You can learn more about Rachael at http://rachaelzoemiller.com/.
Join us any or every week for our regular programming! Purls of Wisdom with the Amazing Hilde, a handcrafting group open only to those who love to handcraft, chat, problem-solve, and/or receive free advice (it’s free!), meets Tuesdays at 1:30. Wizards and Ogres alike are invited to join Rochester’s “largest game” of Magic: The Gathering, every Tuesday, 4 – 7 PM. We’ll provide decks and cards if you need them, expert guidance in learning to play, and free snacks! Every Thursday, in the children’s room, join Maya for an all-ages story time, starting at 3:30 PM.
Plans are in the works for some really fabulous winter programming, so don’t go anywhere! Let’s have some fun!
Thank you for your support!
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11-6, Saturdays, 9-12. rochesterpubliclibraryvt@gmail.com. Please note that the library will be closed on Thursday, November 27, so that the librarian can stay home in a turkey coma.
