Abe Collins to Speak at RPL

All are invited to Rochester Public Library on Saturday, July 19, when Abe Collins of the Land Care Cooperative and LandWEB will be here to talk about “Community Strategy and Action for White River Headwaters Security and Health” (you might remember him from Town Meeting).  Abe will touch on various facets of this topic, such as prairie and forest management and contour-compliant infrastructure to grow deep topsoil, soak in the rain, reduce flooding, and create real security: nutritious and abundant food, clean water, good jobs, energy, and biosecurity.

Abe works to support land stewards and their communities to grow deep topsoil watersheds to leave for future generations. He is a co-founder of the Land Care Cooperative and LandWEB. He has been a grazier of all-forage dairy cows, goats, sheep and beef, and has helped people around the world heal degraded land. He grew up in Rochester, and has farmed in Vermont since he came back home in 2ooo.

We are so lucky to have a beautiful river right here, for all the wonderful things it provides to us, as well as someone as knowledgeable as Abe!
