Ambassador Peter DeShazo will be at Rochester Public Library to speak on Venezuela and Beyond: U.S. Policy in Latin America.
Ambassador DeShazo is Visiting Professor of Latin American, Latino and Caribbean Studies at Dartmouth College, and Professor and Coordinator of Globalization Studies.
He has had a distinguished career in the US foreign service, serving as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs and Permanent
Representative of the United States Mission to the Organization of American States with the rank of Ambassador. He has also had postings at U.S. Embassies and Consulates in Tel Aviv, Caracas, Panama City, Santiago, Medellín, and La Paz.
